With unique hand-tufted rugs, aparts examine the rug's purpose in our surroundings. This is by investigating how the rug, through its shape and placement, can become an integral part of the architecture and interior. With playfulness and great focus on form, colour, and the haptic experience - a dialogue is created between the rug, the room, and its inhabitants. aparts have small-scale production and works also with site-specific assignments. Based in Malmö, aparts is run by Mia Hultgren, educated at The Royal College of Art.

BEAST Studio consists of Li Lindblom and Robert Lindblom – two graphic designers with a penchant for print and communication. Since 2013, the studio has worked with design for print and web, often with clients from areas such as culture, art, media, and universities. They have experience in managing projects from start to finish, but also coming in as additional assets during original production. They run Tryckmakeriet where they offer Risoprinting, as well as workshops in the technique.

Carl Fredrik Emrik is a trained architect who works with experimental design in the borderland between sculpture and furniture, mainly in wood and ceramics. Carl challenges the norm in design and architecture. The process and the experiment are in focus, he is constantly exploring new ways of working and looking for different solutions than the traditional ones. 

Jingbei Zheng is a multi-disciplinary industrial designer and artist based in Sweden. With an exploratory and experimental approach, she brings subtle consciousness and soft emotions to her practice of art and design from natural and raw materials, philosophically and poetically. Jingbei's work reflects traditional influences from Oriental and Nordic cultures with a contemporary perspective. It is the embodiment of her observation and perception on nature, materials, culture, and life.

Your fragility, a ceramic collection of both sculptures and vessels, highlights the aesthetic value of imperfection. It freezes the moment with imperfections as a metaphor of psychological fragility, and turns it into something tangible and poetic. 



IN-BETWEEN EMERGENCE

+ MIXANTHROPY (YIOU WANG, MEICHUNCAI)

In-between Emergence is a collection of biomorphic sculptures depicting a self-organizing progression through five distinct states, with intricate beauty of lifelike phenomena. It reflects the concept Tertium quid, an enigmatic presence of hybridities.

It is a collaborative work between Jingbei Zheng and Mixanthropy (Yiou Wang, Meichun Cai).

Jóna Berglind Stefansdottir is an Icelandic designer who lives and work in Malmö. She has a master´s degree in textile design from the Swedish School of Textiles and a BA in graphic design. She mainly works as a consultant and design patterns and textile products for external companies, but she also works conceptually and artistically, alone or in a group. Her work is rooted in studies of materials and forms where an idea is born which then takes on a life of its own.

Malmö-based Jonas Hultqvist works as a freelance designer and has previously also been in-house at various companies; most recently as product and furniture designer at IKEA - Product Development Center in Shanghai. For three years now, he has been running his own company Designer Jonas Hultqvist AB and works with, among others, IKEA of Sweden but also other companies in Sweden and the USA, often with a focus on home furnishings and lifestyle products. As a designer, he has broad experience and knowledge of construction and production in various areas and materials.   

OnMateria is a sustainable design studio specialising in objects and circular design consultancy. It was in 2019 when Lola Buades and Eléa Nouraud merged their shared passion for the planet and human-friendly design and founded OnMateria. Working from their studios in Stockholm and Skåne's countryside, they bring their vision based on usability and materiality into everyday objects shaped with ingenuity and well-rounded stories. Collaborating with organizations such as Ikea and Tourism in Skåne.

Oskar Olsson is a designer based in Malmö. He works widely and has extensive knowledge in design methodology and various crafts, which gives him an understanding of production, objects and materials. His focus is now digital production where he explores different techniques and approaches to design, fascinated by the meeting between the fast, modern and the slow, timeless. Oskar has participated in various collaborative projects and collectives such as Andra formen and Malmö Upcycling Service.  

Pampas, founded by Linnéa Khalil, designs, and creates clothes. Made to order, where nothing is sewn and collected in stock that no one in turn buys. Pampas also offers rental of all garments. Small-scale and with a business mindset outside the usual business norm. All garments are designed and sewn in the studio in Malmö. For Pampas, it is important to work inclusively, both behind the scenes and in front.

Wool & Beyond makes modern knitting patterns with focus on details and innovative construction. It was founded by Elin Berlin for the passion of making and sharing the joy of crafts. After her graduation at KADK she struggled to find her place in the fashion industry without making sacrifices on her stand points within sustainability. To make knitting patterns appeared as a loophole in the system, where she was able to do what she loved while putting the production in the hands of the consumer.
