Lika olika - a series of wall shelves
Lika olika (similar yet different) are a series of wall shelves created from waste and recycled materials. Similar in function and size. Different in material, technique and expression.
Each shelf is unique and created based on the conditions of the material. By making from what already exists, the studio gives itself a framework before knowing where it leads. Not necessarily to create harmony but rather to surprise both themselves and others.
Irregularity, chains of sounds, where each shelf stands for a note that does not follow an obvious melody. Shapes that clash and stand out. Dissonance, if you will.
Different but still similar.
Similar yet different.
