Helen Sturesson is an interior designer, set designer and stylist. She mainly works towards companies and realizing their visions, needs and dreams. Helen then plan and style interior solutions/ product images/ film for the web, catalogues, brochures, 3D images etc.

Starting up as an industrial designer, her work today is mainly as an illustrator and a set designer for different theatres. She’s also the designer of a couple of popular theme playgrounds; Teaterlekplatsen in Malmö and the playground of Carl von Linné in Växjö. Projects that combines her education as an industrial designer as well as her skills in set design and graphics.

Unik Fabrik is a design studio run by child culture designer Annika Gannby. The focus is on designing products and spaces for and together with children, for example libraries, story rooms, preschools and exhibitions.

When it comes to making decisions, we are usually not presented with one perfect option, which means we have to weigh one imperfect option against another imperfect one, which creates dissonance.

A curated show of six designers and artists exploring their decisions to work in different materials. Whether it is about the material in itself or a means to an end, what drives us to use them in our creative process?

Jennie Margareta Andersson, visual artist and designer, lives and works in Malmö.

My sculptures are built up of materials which in one way or another attracts my attention. The choices of materials are crucial but often selected by coincidence but they have one thing in common, their intended use as well as their physical existence are obvious. 

The symbolism and the potential of the mirror glass are recurring features of my work. In the reflections of the glass, the constant shift between light and darkness, we see our image or surroundings but in another way. An illusion of something occurs, an opening where we can see and see beyond the reflection.
