From construction waste to furniture - a unique collaboration between designer Louise Hederström, Swedese and Skanska. Welcome to a guided viewing of Hyllie Terrass atrium and get the story and thoughts behind the interior. It has now been a year since the project was presented during SSDD 2022 at Lokstallarna. How much material could be used, what were the biggest challenges and was the result good? Beams, plywood, concrete foundations, brass and discarded leather have set the framework for both the designer and the manufacturer. Is this a path that we must choose in the future to save our resources?
Hyllie Terrass is a climate-neutral office building in Malmö, designed by Cobe and built by Skanska, completed in 2023. Materials and details used come both from the construction site, Swedese's production and other manufacturers such as Elmo, Kasthall, Örsjö and Bsweden. A local carpentry has made the installation of the fixed interior. The ambition was to make a welcoming public atrium where you want to sit down, have a coffee and stay a while longer.
