A screening of life in the microcosmos
Sketches by inhabitants of the Microcosmos is a video installation by Felicia Tjus and Svava Þorsteinsdóttir. With an interest in exploring the unknown, we set out on an adventure into a world so intertwined with this one. A beautiful place of curiosities usually not recognized due to its invisibility to the human eye - the Microcosmos.
With a microscope and computer vision, an extraordinary relationship is formed between creatures of the Microcosmos and a computer. The inhabitants of the Microcosmos have integrated into the digital realm and we have handed them our design tools.
Their movements form visual sketches and audible waves, making their way into our perceptual field.
Our hope with this project is to expand the boundaries of this world and to make it richer by
acknowledging all the creatures that we inhabit it with. To create humility towards the unknown.
