Konstnärernas Kollektivverkstad Textiltryck Malmö som förkortas Textiltryck Malmö är en ideell förening vars syfte är att erbjuda yrkesverk­samma konstnärer, konsthantverkare och formgivare arbetsytor och teknisk utrustning för framställning av i huvudsak textilt präglade konstverk.

Textiltryck Malmö bildades 1983 och drivs idag med stöd av Malmö stad och Region Skåne. Textiltryck Malmö är en konstnärsstyrd medlemsorganisation med ca 50 anslutna konstnärer och formgivare. Föreningen har en styrelse bestående av fem personer som arbetar med driften av verkstaden, gemensamma utställningsprojekt, miljöförbättringar och att synliggöra vår yrkeskår. I verksamheten finns för närvarande tre anställda.

Textiltryck Malmö arbetar dessutom i projektform för att utvecklas som plattform för den textila konsten på olika sätt.

Contemporary textile artists based in Malmö. In this exhibition they work as a duo. It adds something to work together where meeting and being creative together is a part of the process and create new expressions. Hand printing and all its possibilities are their common interest. The expression of the material and the technique plays an essential part in their design. 

Sigrid Holmwood is a Malmö based artist. Central to her practice is the research of plant dyes, unearthing their relationships with folklore, colonialism, and modernity. She has a PhD in art from Goldsmiths College, London. Recent exhibitions include In the City Grows a Field, at Malmö Konsthall; Swedish Acquisitions: insights at Moderna Museet, Stockholm; The Corona Collection, Skissernas Museet, Lund and Havremagasinet, Boden; and Cannibal and Witch Eat the Rich, at Celsius Projects, Malmö.

Textile artist and designer who works both illustratively, communicatively, conceptually and abstractly. Right now has an Artist in Residence at Keramiskt center in Höganäs, exhibition in July -23, and recently completed the illustrations for a children's book by Waileth & Bardon in Malmö, release autumn -23. A recurring theme in my own work is forest and sound. Active in Malmö and Arlöv. Dissonance is the beginning of most things.

Marie Wetterstrand, born 1979, textile artist who lives and works in Malmö. Marie mainly works with textile printing in four colours, patchwork and embroidery. For SSDD, she has experimented with dyeing cotton fabrics with edibles such as beetroot, onion, red cabbage, black rice and turmeric. When she did a lot of vegetable dyeing over twenty years ago, everyone said that it was difficult to get vegetable dye to stick to cotton and that dyes from things like beetroot and turmeric were not lightfast. But she ignored that now.

Matilda creates textile patterns for art and product design. Her design language is in the borderland between the organic and graphic. During the process before the exhibition Colored meters she has let classical patchwork provide inspiration for the composition of her work. The work is based on a photo and ink painting in an experimental flow and play with textures and structures. By combining different prints, in layer upon layer and with the help of reservage and etching, the textile has been colored through a intuitive process and received a unique pattern.

This project originates from an embroidery that was

translated into textile printing. The original concept seeks to

capture a state of dissonance, of disruption and fragility.

Teresa Montesino Hammarskjöld is a textile artist and

designer. She has a BA in Textile Design from the Swedish

School of Textiles in Borås and education in textile crafts

from Capellagården and Stenebyskolan.

Teresa works with different materials and combines several

techniques. She moves in the borderland between art, craft

and design.

Karin Olu Lindgård is a textile designer educated at the Royal Academy's School of Design in Copenhagen. In her studio, she works both with visionary, exploratory studio projects and as a consultant for international producers. She has been mentioned by Katie Treggiden as an example of innovative Scandinavian textile designers and exhibited at Wanås Art Gallery.

Matilda Ekström is a textile designer educated at the Swedish school of Textiles in Borås. With an exploratory and sustainable discourse, her studio has the ambition to create bold and poetic design, often based on everyday considerations. Matilda works with small-scale studio production as well as consultant for international producers.

In recent years, Karin and Matilda have collaborated on countless projects, both visionary, artistic and commercial.

Adrienn Görgényi Andersdotter is a textile artist and designer.

She works with various textile dyeing and printing techniques, pattern cutting, various sewing techniques and dye plants.

She studied fashion design and textile product development in Budapest, Hungary. She attended a semester at Suleyman Demirel University in Turkey and she continued to develop her skills at London College of Fashion.

She enjoys exploring various cultures and taking inspiration to test new techniques. She likes the idea of learning, developing a technique and making it work in practice.

Her focus is on natural dyes and she produces smaller interior decoration items and accessories with the colour she grows.

She is a free-lancer and the founder of Dye Lab Malmö.

My days are filled with the creation and crafting of young people, the evenings with everyday management and the development of my children. My own creation and development happens in the gaps, in the fragments of time that are left over when everything that needs to be done is done. Getting and taking time to disappear into a process of color and form is a favor I treat myself to rarely, but when it does, life becomes a little sharper and takes on tangible contours. It is in the gaps of time that I find myself back.

Jenny Frank works with many different materials and techniques in the borderland between art and design. She has a background in textile design and works with contrasts and three-dimensional structures in the textile surfaces.

Nature is a great source of inspiration. In my creations I often want to tell something, directly or indirectly there is a story behind what the viewer sees. Memories, experiences and comments on contemporary phenomena. My artistic expression borders on the illustrative and the decorative. Pattern design, textile printing and free embroidery.

I have lived in different cities that influenced my expression. From Limhamn/Malmö to Paris, Stockholm, Chicago, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Toronto back to Limhamn. Sculpt, paint, photograph, film, edit, textile print. I am seduced by textile printing. The combination of a three-dimensional fabric to print color and images on gives me endless possibilities.
